Film Festivals
Why Film Festivals?

The power of a flickering image in a darkened room is undeniable.

The “magic of the silver screen” can capture the imagination of an audience in ways other media cannot.

All of us remember vivid images from our childhood, many of them from films.

These images affect our behaviour, and often shape the way we perceive the world and the people that live in it.

Why Orange Farm?

The Orange Farm Film Festival is a human rights film festival, held in one  of the most impoverished areas of South Africa, about an hour south of Johannesburg.

We aim to make it an annual event, which will encourage and inspire new filmmakers from all areas of our society.
